Thank you to everyone who came to my booth at the Emerald City Comic Con. I know I was in a place where lots of PUBLISHED, incredibly talented artists were but it was so nice to see you all. I really enjoyed myself and I am planning on attending next year's con!

Hey! It is I! The masked avenger "Caffeinated Kerry!" Mwahahahahahah! *cough cough* Man! What a weekend! For two days I made a lot of contacts and cash but it was so much fun to see you all. The stickers were HUGE at the show! Hey, they were the talk of the convention room. People LOVED them! hahahah! It was so much fun to see their reactions... I even signed some of them. So I will be doing more for next year, mostly Marvel and some DC. Here's a list of the top sellers for the show:

1. Iron Man
2. Link
3. Inu Yasha
4. L
5. Gara
6. Kakashi
7. Kisuke
8. Hellboy
9. Light
10. Naruto

Iron Man was the big hit of the table... that didn't shock me at all. It shocked mom but not me. I knew what would happen with both Iron Man and Link. Notice they were both in the top 2. I had a lot of suggestions for the show so here's the verdict:

1. More game characters like Devil May Cry, FF7 (working on them just didn't finish), old school games.

2. More DC and Marvel chibis.

3. Sin City! I had a couple of guys ask for Marve or Gail but I didn't have them. I will TOTALLY have some for the next comic book show... possibly at Kumoricon but for the comic book shows, certainly.

4. Trigun. Yeah, I need to just pick a design and run with it. Might have about 4 different Vash designs and 3 of Wolfwood. I wanna give him angel wings. Heheh!

5. A lot of customers don't want cigarettes in the chibi's mouths so I agree and you will not see a chibi smoking. Makes it easier on me. I don't mind it but for chibi's it does throw 'em off. I only want to give them character. I don't smoke but it is a character trait.

Goddess' were really popular at the booth. There was this one commission I did for a father who's wife just passed away and he wanted to give a sketchbook filled with art work of his daughter's favorite female super heroes as a gift to his daughter for her mother's passing. He came by my table and noticed the Storm bookmark I made from the old-school Storm in the original X-men series. That's my favorite Storm because of her head-dress but he commissioned me to draw and color Storm (it turned out so well and I think I still have an image, if not I can make it again. It was an easy design but it really worked!) and when he came back to get the piece he was so happy with it that he told me I should consider doing a goddess rendition of some of the Marvel female mutants like Storm, Phoenix (both dark and light), maybe Rogue, etc. He also wanted to see a mythology version of Wolverine. So if anything I will certainly put out a line of those girls in goddess form. I'll bring it by Marvel. Think it would sell?

My neighbor was super sweet and we had a great time. I urge you guys to check out her gallery, honest! Amy was such a sweetheart and she is so talented. Check it out: :iconartyewok: . She does Star Wars fanart and original sketches but you have to see what she does. Squeee! Hehehe. Amy also did some Star Wars drawing sessions with the little kids, which was such a big hit. I really REALLY wanted to go but I was basically stuck in my spot; a lot of commission work I had to do.

As for the comic book pages.... didn't get a chance to drop 'em off. Honestly... the place was a ZOO! I hardly had the time to go to the bathroom. I was swamped with people asking questions, I had a few people ask about the comic, wanting to get a future commission, asking about my style and how I feel about the major labels, etc. But I am not complaining. I thought I would give it a shot. I didn't submit but I'll continue to work on my pages and in the mean time I will discuss something else my good friend Amy suggested.

Amy looked at my art work (she was my neighbor at the con) and she thought I should check out a couple of places to make some cards or promote my work to a publisher. I agree! I think it would sell. I also got a line in with Dark Horse comics when Katie, one of the volunteer's who also does editing and some promotional stuff for the company came by my booth for a Link sticker... which I was sold out of. I'll probably just give her one. She was a doll and such a kind hearted person. But Katie and I talked about the company and I told her that I was interested in Marketing with Dark Horse. She's got my info so Katie, if you are reading this I am totally interested and would love to promote Dark Horse products. I have them all over my room... I am currently reading the Goon #19 and cannot wait for #20. *adores Goon*

Speaking of "Goon".... Eric Powell... was... ONLY 5 TABLES AWAY FROM MY TABLE!!!! This is Eric Powell... Eisner award winner of the Goon and he was just such a cool guy! His girlfriend was with him and she was such a sweetheart... and a lovely woman! Woah! Eric, your girlfriend is stunningly beautiful! I got vol. 0 and vol. 1 signed by Eric and I asked him a couple of numeric questions about the series but NOTHING about what's going to happen. We discussed past volumes and stuff but NOTHING about what's going to happen. That's what I love about the series; it's so surprising and fun to read. Oh god! The short story about the Secret and Oprah was so funny! Hahahah! "Eat Oprah Droppings to build your brain waves!" Mmmm! Oprah Droppings! Hehehe! *lol* I also got to meet Gregg Rucka (so much fun talking with him!!!) and Steve Lieber, artist of Whiteout by Greg Rucka. He was such a nice guy, too. I told him I really liked Kerry in Whiteout... plus he gave me a pin and signed a post card with Kerry on it... but not with her missing fingers. Too bad but it was so much fun to talk with him. We spoke about traditional tools of the trade and I showed him my work. He was very helpful.

This is going to be a two part segment, guys. Look at how long this is! Sorry. See you later and look for more art work including images from the con. See you next time!
